RG.11- Rainy Days and Wednesday

And on the eleventh day...

=DAY 11 NOTES=
...the days of total rainout days in grand slams are just about extinct. The Australian Open was the first to get a roof (or two, or three), with Wimbledon and (belatedly) the U.S. Open following suit. Come 2020, the recently refurbished Chatrier Court in Paris is set to have a roof, as well, officially bringing an end to days such as this.

But we've still got a few more days to watch an era die.

...one thing did manage to get accomplished today, as the wheelchair draws were made. At first glance, two-time defending champ Yui Kamiji (#2 seed) seems to have the more forgiving path to a potential final showdown with #1 Diede de Groot.

De Groot and Kamiji are definitely set to face off in the opening semifinal round of doubles.

..."Oh, I see..." ON DAY 11: Today is all Marketa's fault.

...T-MINUS ONE DAY TO #DDay75 ON DAY 11: Great photos...

...LIKE ON DAY 11: More insightful than some of the conversations you'd hear (insert own personal swipe at whatever tennis outlet, news organization, acquaintances or family members, etc. that you deem appropriate), that's for sure...

...LIKE ON DAY 11: A little like watching those old videos of a little Andre Agassi...

...LIKE ON DAY 11: Just about time to get down to business...

...LIKE ON DAY 11: Sometimes, you never know what'll happen...

Needless to day, he didn't call bank.

As the 2010's began to wind down in Paris in 2016, the decade ended with a stretch similar to that with which it'd been ushered in -- one that embraced star-turns featuring a run of first-time slam champions.

The 2016 Roland Garros recap... here.
